Although the opening of the song sounds, a little bit snobby, listen a little bit deeper and you will find that, this track is all about focus.
On a daily basis we are all bombarded with information, social networks, TV networks, family and friendship networks, the list goes on. Only by cutting out distractions and truly focusing on the things we need to can we achieve our goals to the best of our abilities.

For me, the vocal story of this track came about at a time when I had a rare chance to sit back and appreciate some of the works I had completed for a project.
This sparked a realisation that, had I not cut off distractions and really put focus into the project, the results may not have been as good as what I was witnessing.

The backing track, came from a similar effort to focus and extract the best I could, from what was, at the time, a pretty scary situation.
Cropping a long story to the good bit... I found what turned out to be a gem, within the data of another track I was working on, what made it tricky was, that at the time of hearing it, recording it was not possible, so, with a bit of focus and determination to extract more of what was hidden in the music, I found the perfect backing track, that spoke the same language as what I felt.
Then, before i knew it, the lyrics, the flows, the vibe, all started pouring out as I recorded the track.

Still to make it all work, called once again, for the very thing it was speaking about, to get the the lyrics coded the the track as if it was all one unit, to get the content meaningful and still able to entertain, Putting in the time and proper attention to the things that really matter is what made it possible. |
